On December 16, in the premises of the Academy Hotel in Zagreb, a round table of the Forum of Energy Communities was held. The organizer of the event itself was the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding from Zagreb.

The first speaker was Goran Čačić, president of the Green Energy Community (ZEZ), who presented the state of the art of energy communities in Croatia. He also talked about the development of a methodology that will be used to measure legislative favorability for the establishment of energy communities in certain states.

Project SunSharing
After him, dr. sc. Antun Pfeifer, presented details of the Sunsharing project, which supports solar communities along Southeast Europe. The project thus saw the light of day in Croatia, Bulgaria, Greece and North Macedonia. It started at the beginning of 2022 and will end at the end of 2024.
The SunSharing project has thus increased the visibility and understanding of energy communities and crowdfunding initiatives related to solar energy. Through it, citizens and authorities were introduced to the best practices of solar energy communities in the European Union, and their capacity to establish them was increased.

Participation of the Island Movement
Representatives of the Island Movement, Maja Jurišić and Ivan Zoković Cola, and the director of OTRA (Island Development Agency) from Cres, Ugo Toić, participated in the round table as representatives of the ISLET project. They presented activities related to the establishment of an energy community on Cres and planned activities on other islands in the coming period.
